George Portokalakis was born and lives in Crete. Since 1970 his main occupation is Tourism. In earlier years he worked for class hotel complexes and loved his work.He have studied hotel management and worked as head officer for the various departments of class hotels as bar - restaurant - kitchen - main courant - reception,( 1970 - 1981 ). For two years he runs his own traditional cuisine restaurant (1982 - 1983). 1984 in cooperation with two partners he has established a general tourism office which is busy with everything concerning Travel and tourism at Sea - Land and Air , as well as international transports / cargo’s.. Since 1987 he has established the company PORTO CLUB (www.portoclub.gr ) a general tourism office which is busy with everything concerning Travel and tourism at Sea - Land and Air as well as tour operator for incoming and outgoing. In the last 16 years he is specializing in the field of special concepts of tourism with emphasis in Eco - Tourism. The suggested programs , routes , restaurants, farms , homes are always under close supervising by himself and his special relations with everybody concerned, guarantees the perfect service.

Hi George, We are back in Idaho. The cab met us at the boat, took us to the hotel, then therestaurant, back to the hotel, and to the air port. Greatconnections. Athens was quite warm.The hotel in Mykonos was great, It has just been refurbished. The folks there were really nice and helpful. The beds were hard but thenall the beds in Greece are hard. What a special tour. Thanks for THE MOST MEMORABLE meal in all of Greece……when we visited your island started dreaming of Crete and thought of you. All those special little things extra that you did. The recipe for the tomato open face sandwiches is in my permanent file. Problem is that I can come close to using the same kind of bread you had, but it is not quite as good.
